Sacramento, California KSMF #36 US airport by passengers
At 6900 Airport Boulevard, about 12 miles northwest of downtown Sacramento, California.
Sacramento International has two separate terminal buildings, Terminal A and Terminal B, each with its own check-in area and TSA checkpoint. Terminal B is the larger of the two and is where Southwest and most other airlines operate. Which terminal you need depends only on your airline, so confirm it before you leave.
The airport is in the middle of a large modernization program the county calls SMForward. A six-story parking garage next to Terminal B, a covered walkway between Terminal B and its concourse, a new Terminal A exit road and up to six added gates on Concourse B are all in progress, with different completion dates. Details and dates are posted on the airport website and may change.
Main airlines: Southwest Airlines carries more passengers than any other airline here. Terminal A is used by Air Canada, American, Delta and United. Terminal B is used by Southwest, Alaska, Aeromexico, Frontier, JetBlue and Volaris, among others.

The two terminals are separate buildings. The airport says walking takes about 10 minutes and is the fastest option, using sky bridges through the parking garage. Alternatively, the Daily Lot shuttle, which the airport says arrives about every 10 minutes, stops at the ground level of each terminal. Either way, you must go through TSA screening again at the other terminal to reach your gate, so allow extra time on a connection between airlines in different terminals.
