A few miles south of Center City Philadelphia, on the southwest side of the city, close to I-95.
Philadelphia International is the largest airport in Pennsylvania and a major American Airlines hub. It has seven lettered terminals: A-East, A-West, B, C, D, E and F.
Most terminals are connected after security, so you can walk between many gates without leaving the secure area. The exception is Terminal F, which uses a free shuttle bus.
Main airlines: American Airlines is the dominant carrier and runs one of its largest East Coast hubs here. Foreign carriers, including British Airways, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus and Qatar Airways, also serve the airport.

Domestic and some international flights. The American Airlines Flagship Lounge is between gates A15 and A16, and the Admirals Club is between gates A4 and A6.

American Airlines regional jets. It is connected by a free airport shuttle bus, not by walkway. Its Admirals Club is above the food court.
Most terminals are linked airside after security, so you can walk between A, B, C, D and E without a new screening. Terminal F is not connected by walkway. Take the free shuttle bus from Terminal F at Gate F-14 to Gate C-16 for Terminals B, C and D, or to Gate A-1 for Terminals A-East and A-West. The shuttle does not require a new screening, but international arrivals must clear customs and then go through security again.
Regional rail stops at all four airport stations for Terminals A, B, C/D and E/F, with trains about every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight. The trip to Center City takes about 25 minutes, and the fare depends on your payment method. Check SEPTA for current prices.
Buses stop at all baggage claim areas, and they connect the airport with nearby neighborhoods and the Eastwick area.
Taxis are in Zone 5, rideshare in Zone 7, hotel shuttles in Zone 4, rental car shuttles in Zone 2, and limousines in Zone 6. Follow the zone signs after baggage claim.
Rental car agencies run shuttles from Zone 2 after baggage claim.
The SEPTA Airport Line regional rail takes about 25 minutes. Trains run about every 30 minutes, and there is a station for each terminal group.
Most terminals are linked after security, but Terminal F is not. Use the free shuttle bus from Gate F-14 to reach the other terminals.
The Philadelphia Airport Marriott is connected by a skybridge to Terminals B and C. Minute Suites offers private rooms inside the secure area for layovers and overnight stays.
About 14,779,849 passengers boarded flights at Philadelphia International Airport in 2025, according to FAA enplanement data. That ranks it number 21 among US airports.
Over May 2026 to July 2026, 26.2% of departures at PHL left 15 or more minutes late, and 3.25% of flights were cancelled (Bureau of Transportation Statistics).
